
15 Bean Soup
This is a delicious soup for the cold winter months.
⏲ Prep Time: 10 minutes (soak beans overnight)
⏳ Cook Time: 2 hours
Ingredients
- 1 bag of 15 bean soup
- Ham bone, saved from ham
- 4 cloves of fresh garlic, chopped or minced
- 2 cans (15 ounces) of tomatoes
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
Directions:
- Soak beans in water overnight.
- Place ham bone in pot. Add beans and cover with water. Discard the ham seasoning packet.
- Add salt and pepper.
- Bring to boil and then reduce heat to medium.
- Add tomatoes, garlic, onion, lemon juice, and remaining spices.
- Simmer for two hours and serve.
